This article describes the CrashPlan PRO software release process and is intended for CrashPlan PRO customers. It covers version numbering, upgrades and communications associated with our software release process.
Effective August 20th, 2009, CrashPlan PRO uses a Major and Minor versioning system for releases.
Major version releases include core new functionality and features, bug fixes, and possibly user interface changes or enhancements. Both PRO Server and PRO Client are upgraded.
Major version releases are identified by the date they are released.

On occasion we will update an installer or set of installers on our site in order to address technical issues.
Whenever we make any such change we will publish these changes (as well as the issues they were intended to address) in the “Maintenance Update” section of the Release Notes.
CrashPlan PRO users upgrade to Major and Minor version releases using the standard PRO Server upgrade process.
Version numbers are always properly reflected in PRO Server Administration Console and PRO Client for easy version management.
