Backup Frequency and Version Retention
Overview
Use the Backup Frequency and Version Retention settings to specify:
- how often CrashPlan PRO backs up your files
- which versions to remove
- when to remove deleted files from the backup archives

| a | Backup changed files after | Indicates how often CrashPlan PRO backs up. |
| b | Verify backup selection every | Indicates frequency for verifying files selected for backup. |
| c | Verify backup selection at | Indicates the time of day verification takes place. |
| d | Never remove deleted files | Checked - Indicates that deleted files (using the OS or an application) are never removed from the archive. Unchecked - Indicates that deleted files will be removed after a specified period (e) |
| e | Remove deleted files after | Period after which deleted files are removed from the archive. |
| f | Versions to keep from last week | Indicates which versions to keep from last week (not including today). |
| g | Versions to keep from last 90 days | Indicates which versions to keep from last 90 days (not including last week). |
| h | Versions to keep from last year | Indicates which versions to keep from last year (not including the last 90 days). |
| i | Versions to keep from previous years | Indicates which versions to keep from previous years (not including last year). |
Considerations
- The frequency range depends on the setting for the previous interval. For example, the setting for “Last year” cannot be greater than the setting for the last 90 days.
