Service providers may have customers who are running their own onsite PRO Server under the customer's own master license key. Service providers can offer these customers offsite backup to the service provider's own hosted PRO Server.
Offering hosted offsite backup to your PRO Server is a great way to expand your service offering and provide the best backup coverage to your customers.
This article assumes you are familiar with these concepts:
In service provider's admin console, choose Organization > Add Organization.
In the Organization Name field, enter organization name.
Click the Hosted check box.
In the GUID field, enter the GUID that the customer supplied.
Optional: Complete contact info for this customer.
In the Maximum Seats field, enter the maximum number of seats to allow this organization to use.
In the Disk Quota field, enter the maximum size of the archive.
In the Web Restore User Limit field, enter the maximum size of data that users can recover using Web Restore.
In the Web Restore Org Admin field, enter the maximum size of data that admins can recover using Web Restore.
Click the Terms and Conditions check box.
Click Save.
PRO Server generates a Registration Key. Supply this key to the customer.
The service provider supplies his server host name, the generated Registration Key and his GUID to the customer. The customer performs the following steps.
In his PRO Server, the customer chooses Settings > Add Storage > Attach PRO Server.
In the Type list, verify that Attach Pro Server is selected.
In the Name field, a name for this PRO Server.
This is the label that your clients will see.
In the Hostname field, enter hostname of provider's server.
In the GUID field, enters the offsite provider's GUID.
In the Registration Key field, the customer enters the registration key provided by the offsite provider.
Click Save.
Only new users have the option to back up to the attached PRO Server.
To allow existing users to back up to the attached PRO Server, modify your default destinations at either the
server or the
org level.
Choose Settings>Edit Default Settings>Apply destination changes to existing users.
Each PRO Client that backs up to both PRO Servers will consume a seat license from both the customer and the Service Provider.
