Moving PRO Client User to Another Computer

This article covers moving a PRO Client user to another computer.

• Understand stopping and restarting the PRO Client.

1. Install a new PRO Client on host B using the appropriate CrashPlan installer.
2. Stop the CrashPlan engine on host A.
3. Stop the CrashPlan engine on host B.
4. Copy any backup archives from the PRO Client on host A to B. Archives should be copied to the same location on the file system.
5. Set the GUID of the client on B to the same value as the GUID on A. This can be done using the “guid” manual command described here.
6. Start the CrashPlan engine on host B.
