Managing your backup means staying informed about the health and progress of your backup. CrashPlan PRO also allows you to customize report settings and alert and warning conditions.
There are a number of ways that administrators can stay informed about backup health:
Admin Backup Status Report -
report sent to admin summarizing backup results and status for all the computers backing in an organization
User Backup Status Report -
report displayed in PRO Client summarizing backup results and status for all the computers backing for a specific user
Backup Alert (user) - alert user receives when no backup has occurred
Backup Archive Alert (user) - alert user receives when a backup archive has corrupted data
Connection Alert (user) - alert user receives when one of this user's computers could not connect for the specified period
Admin Backup Alert (admin) - alert admin receives when any computer in the organization has not backed up to any destinations for longer than the specified period
Disk Space Alert - alert admin receives when a mount point has insufficient diskspace to complete a backup
LDAP Alert - alert admin receives when there is an LDAP issue
License Alert - alert admin receives there are not enough seat licenses available on your account to back up all the computers requesting backup
Mount Alert - alert admin receives when there is a mount point that is not available
Recover Password - message users receive when they need to recover their password
CrashPlan PRO alerts and reports provide the following benefits:
Stay informed regarding whose backups have been successful and more importantly which ones have not.
Receive alerts and warnings when computers have not been able to connect after the number of days you specify.
Customize report frequency so that you receive reports only as often as you wish.
Customize alerts and warning conditions so that you learn about connection and backup problems after the interval you specify.
Modify the email message text that accompanies the alert or report.
