Desktop and Remote Restore

CrashPlan PRO provides a couple of options for restoring another user's files:

• Desktop Restore - From the source computer, a user can use PRO Client to restore files that have been backed up to a destination computer. Use this option when the source computer is still available.

• Guest Restore - If the source computer is not available, a user on the destination computer can restore files using the Guest Restore feature in PRO Client. Guest Restore requires that the user provide the password (account or private) or the private encryption key associated with this backup.

The desktop and remote restore features provide the following benefits:

• Users can restore files themselves without increasing adding to admin workload
• Users can restore files themselves without compromising confidentiality
• Service providers can offer flexible restore options
